Paris Mountain State Park - Greenville SC
This 1275-acre park just north of Greenville is very popular throughout the year. The mountain pokes up like a monument and is well forested with old stands of trees.

Lake swimming and the many picnic areas are major attractions although there are also well-equipped meeting facilities and some 50 campsites. Hiking trails include Sulpher Spring trail, a rather strenuous 4 mile loop, Brissey Ridge trail, a 2.3 mile loop also rather strenuous, and Lake Placid trail which is an easy walk around the parks 13-acre lake.

An entrance fee is charged for day-time users - $1.50 each for age 16 and older - SC senior citizens admitted FREE. South Carolina has an annual passport program which, when purchased for $40 (per year), allows entry to all SC State Parks.

From I-385: take SC-291 north to SC 253. Turn right and continue another 4 miles to State Park Road. Turn left, 1 more mile and you'll see the well-marked park entrance on the left.

Paris Mountain State Park Campground
Description - Visitors desiring a quiet place to relax in a mountain setting can find this opportunity at Paris Mountain State Park, located only a short drive from downtown Greenville. Formerly a watershed for the city, Paris Mountain is one of the oldest protected areas in the state. This 1275-acre park is well known for its stands of large trees, lake swimming, hiking and numerous picnic areas. Today many of the park's buildings display the CCC's rustic style of architecture and stonework.

The campground offers 50 sites which are RV accessible for RV's up to 40 feet. Camp Buckhorn group camp is an ideal rental facility for groups of up to 42 persons. Buckhorn Lodge may be rented for meetings and special occasions. Seven picnic shelters are available. The park offers several hiking trails and a 1.5 mile bike trail. Enjoy fishing in the park's 13-acre Lake Placid for bass, crappie and bream. Seasonal lake swimming and rental pedal boats are offered upon availability of lifeguards.

Recreation - This park offers opportunities for camping, hiking, fishing, biking, picnicking, and swimming.
